The 7.0 Litre Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers are designed to extinguish fires on kitchen ranges for cooking oil (lard, olive oil, maize oil, butter) and fat fires. For use of cooking oils that store over 20litres. They contain a liquid extinguishing agent, that is very effective in quickly extinguishing a fire. When the chemical is discharged it has a soap like solution that seals the surface prevents re-ignition.

When it comes to fighting fires in kitchen/cooking areas, Wet chemical fire extinguishers are extremely effective.

Firstly extinguishing the flames, followed by reducing the temperature of the fats and oils.  The wet chemical (potassium) then creates a soapy substance which prevents the fire from re-igniting.


Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers can be identified by their oatmeal coloured band.

When can I use this fire extinguisher?

The 7.0L Wet Chemical Fire Extinguisher can be used in the following fires

  • Class A fire – Normal combustibles such as fires involving materials such as wood, paper , cloth and textiles,  plastics or rubber products
  • Class F Fires – Fires involving cooking oils & fats such as Lard or vegetable oils

This 7.0 Litre Wet Chemical fire extinguisher can be used for more than 25 Litres of cooking oil.

When should I AVOID using this fire extinguisher?
